James Gordon has had a diverse and resilient career in the Canadian cultural sector. As a solo artist and with the trio Tamarack, he’s recorded 40 albums and toured globally. His work spans symphony orchestras, musical theatre, film scores, and CBC radio as a songwriter-in-residence. Known for social justice and environmental songs, his viral hit “Crybabies Caravan” gained over 300,000 views. James also runs a songwriting-in-schools program and his iconic song "Frobisher Bay" has been recorded by over 100 artists. His latest album When I Stayed Home and his musical novel The Ark of the Oven Mitt are recent highlights.
